Run some stress tests for like 10 mins I just make sure the temps are OK under heavier load. I then download steam and some games. See how well it runs on some latest AAA titles. I am not well versed on that stuff Tech enthusiasts get satisfaction of building computers, but also making sure they are finally tuned and optimized to the best of their abilities. Some people just want stability as the end goal. To that end, they will run a battery of synthetic workloads to stress the individual components to ensure they don't crash or destabilize under load. Install and update all the drivers. Install Firefox and all the other programs I need. If it's a laptop, remove all the bullshit that was pre-installed. Install a bunch of games and benchmarks and see how they run. Copy save data to the new PC. If I ever quit being a lazy fuck and build a new PC, I'll also have to undo as much of the stupid shit they did with Windows 11 as possible like the taskbar being centered and the right click menu requiring an extra click to get to the full menu. ...
