It's always been a state with a very significant divide between the rural and urban areas. The gerrymandering and propagandizing of the last 15 years though has made it exponentially worse.

As someone who has lived in Missouri for about 8 or so years..

There are 3 large pockets of Blue, surrounded by an ocean of Red. Kansas City, St Louis, and Columbia.

Yeah, I've never really understood the self-hating gopper crowd. Imagine belonging to a terrorist organization who list you as an enemy to their beliefs, but you go along with it anyway to.....own the libs, I'm guessing.

When it becomes clear that Republicans have no intention of respecting the rules, what needs to happen is a realization that you're not playing the same game.

So Republicans silence dissent at every turn, even among their own party, and refuse to allow any progress by civil means. What options does that leave people when not even those voted in get a say?

Besides the obvious, it's also about time we start organizing to get people gender affirming care in states that are outlawing it. The GOP will continue to put a tighter squeeze on the medical care or trans folk, but as long as HRT is manufactured it's going to become necessary to say fuck the GOP and get it to people anyway.
