Should I give it another shot? What should I go into it reminding myself to get over the differences

If you don't like it then you don't have to force yourself.

That said if you didn't play 6 with DLC you might give it a try again. Much like with 5 it had pretty substantial DLC that made it a much better game.

I kinda like both. They play differently enough from each other that I had no reason to stop playing 5 when I got 6, so they both just exist in my Steam library and I swap back and forth depending on what I feel like.

I like both. Civ 6 is kinda like 5 in that you need the DLC to get the most out of it.

I bounced off civ 6 but played a ton of 4 and 5

civ 6 is way better

you have to plan for 100s of turns ahead

I think Civ 5 was the much better game for its time and even overall though I usually choose to play VI now-a-days.

I played Civ IV religiously, but was never really able to get into either 5 or 6.

I loved 5, never liked 6. Idk, something about it just felt off and I did not like the new art style. Plys, it felt like there were less civs to chose from.

Heh, after all the DLC, Civ 6 actually has the most civs in the series now.

I played about 600 hours of 5 and 900 hours of 6. I like 6 better overall, my main problem with it is that it needs another difficulty between king and emperor. king is too easy and the AI cheats too much on emperor

but the happiness and religion systems are better in 6 imo, and I like the world congress events.

and for whatever reason 6 runs better on my PC

Then again, for 5 it took a good 100 hours just for me to figure out all of the different aspects and statistics to work around. I just haven't had the time to invest in learning the new game.

Love 5 have zero motivation to even really start up 6. It doesnt help that it looks stupid :(
