You may not believe, but I can get you there. Let's cut to the chase.

-What are emos notorious for doing? Exactly what Dante does about half way through the game. Impaling themselves with the Devil Sword Sparda. He self harms the same way using DSD every time he activates Sin Devil Trigger.

-He is friends with critically acclaimed emo V. He is also friends with Nero who is the son of the biggest My Chemical Romance fanboy ever.

-His song is a bunch of naruto vs sephiroth AMV sounding screamo whatever. In the other games Dante's going to bat for the human half of his lineage. Not today, Zurg.

-Remember how emos had a symbiotic link with Hot Topic? Well look at the DMC5 microtransactions. Dante can run to the digital Hot Topic and buy a reskin that turns him into the emo from the reboot!

-DARKNESS. It is DARKNESS that Dante sits in sombrely until Morrison comes and fishes Dante out of his mire of self-loathing.

-The part where he dances is just him impersonating his own former glory for a fan. The rest of the game he is mumbling to himself wearily, he recycles old taunts against King Cerberus. He is dour and joyless as he tiresomely replicates attacks he used to enjoy performing.

-He gets beat up at the end and goes to the underworld to cut a tree. I don't see many emos nowadays so I assume the exact same thing happened to them years ago.

Remember, you can't spell demon without emo.

Don't start another terrible fucking gimmick.
