It's your choice, not mine. Personally I feel having a board just for politics and political discussion is a good idea. To have most if not all the discussions there and only there. Regardless of how people think of the board it was better to have a place to go and discuss.

I think this was a mistake.

That is all.

I dont really disagree, but feels like the first step in fandoms slow stranglehold on the site. These boards are a fairly dead concept living on borrowed time, but would be better to go out on their own than to be consumed by a greedy corporation.

So when messages were marked they weren't weighted in the queue anymore? I'm not shocked that they would have done away with the system, but at least until I left if a user was abusing the marking system eventually their marks would be so low priority they wouldn't show in the queue anymore.

Sounds like you have a back end problem and it's the users that are paying for it.

I think he means the sheer amount of reports they had to handle was hogging up a lot of mod resources. Not necessarily modding people but just the amount of reports they had to sift through.

For the majority of posts, the only time I've reported is clear trolling (i.e., their intention is purely to get a rise out of people, they don't actually feel/believe the things they say). That said, there have been a few posts over the years that make me go "Hmm, yeah, that seems reportable." Like someone threatening to track down another user and kill their family members while they forced that user to watch.

Never felt the need to post there, I like the raised karma level for CE also.

I know the board was deleted to satisfy Fandom's demands, but I don't think that will fix very much. They will just find somewhere else to talk about politics on gamefaqs (on the same level as before). I know someone will say "then the admins will ban them" but the admins could have just banned them all while still on the politics board. But again, this appears to be a decision made to satisfy Fandom's demands, to give the appearance that action was taken.

It's impossible to stop that level of political talk. All you did was spread it all over.

So now you are left with accepting this or close all non gaming boards.

Not necessarily, this board isn't just for politics. You have a ton of topics of people just shooting the shit which is not necessarily ideal for people who want to be trolls on the political level.

Oh, it's gonna be. Cause the closest site in ideology to politics is Current Events, as most politics are current events.

Please raise it to (> 255 Karma) as the minimum requirement.

I liked Politics just cause it was convenient to have a board that generally contained what was going on in any given day. CE moves faster and is filled with a bunch of baloney which will make it harder for me to just read and keep up on stuff that interests me in the world of politics.
