I think it suffers a bit because the song sounds like it's designed to have a bunch of separate short ~4 bar phrases that repeat or something in-game, but it's still good fun either way. The intro to Lost Painting is outstanding, and then the rest is reasonably fine. Honestly not sure what to vote here. Weapons Factory is certainly inoffensive but I can't say I'm too high on it. Melody is a bit basic. The appeal I think is in the weird rhythmic stuff going on but there's just not actually enough there, and also the timbre of one of the percussion instruments I find is a bit too close to grating. I don't have a lot to say about KANNANSHINKU but it's definitely pleasant to listen to. Windslash Steps is great. Lots of catchy synth and piano melodies that are always a blast to listen to. Unlike a lot of rhythm game music,Shushidoes a good job using aggressive electronic sounds to accentuate the music without just going crazy. Vocalist is nice also, but it still feels like the song overall is missing something. Gnorman is nothing short of quirky and entertaining to listen to, and Lost Painting really sells its mystical vibe pretty well to me. Weapons Factory is a good, "non-standard" pick from Shimomura that gives you the perfect vibe based off the track name alone. Nice synths, good mechanical noises to sell the factory setting. KANNANSHINKU is a surprise new find for me, I wasn't expecting something this cool sounding from Darius all about places! The keyboard and vocals are easily my favorites from this. Windslash Steps feels more like a groovy Castlevania remix than what I've usually experienced from Falcom so far. KANNANSHINKU: The production on this one is really good, especially the synth quality and the effective usage of panning. Just a cool sounding song, although I wish it were longer. Windslash Steps: Although I'm not a huge fan of some of the synths used here, the composition is pretty solid. Good melody and structure. Set You Free: This vocalist is quite good. And the synths are super cool too. Probably my favorite song of the day. Very good day. No bad songs (~~although Falcom still ends up in last in my overall ranking~~).
