Jeopardy! has been around forever, and for decades, you would get someone winning 1 or 2 games, then a new person becoming champ.

But over the last few years, the show has had a string of players who win 5, 10, 15+ games in a row, often completely destroying the other players.

Why the change? Are these people really that much better? Buzzer shenanigans? Producers purposely bringing in unqualified players to keep the champ winning?

Also, the champ ALWAYS gets all the Daily Doubles

The prevailing theory on fan boards is that prospective contestants had more time to study and practice buzzer skills/wagering theory/during the pandemic, and once a champion gets into a groove with several consecutive wins they're that a lot more familiar with the exact buzzer timing making it that much harder for the new players who haven't had anything more than a few practice questions in rehearsal to get in consistently.

I always yell "cheater" whenever someone finds a Daily Double on the first pick of the round or immediately after the other Daily Double

I feel like when the producers want a new champ, suddenly the reigning champ's buzzer timing is all whacked

There's far too many regulations in place for that.

There used to be a rule that limited a champ to five appearances. If someone won five games in a row, the next episode would have three new contestants. Once that rule was removed, you started seeing the dominant players run up long win streaks.

True, but it just seems coincidental that the show is just a string of multi-game champions and NEVER has anyone only win one game and then lose the next

She was supposed to host until the end of the season but she walked out in solidarity for the writer's strike so Ken will be back for the final week (and hopefully next season)

What if they did an episode where everyone answered every question using the Final Jeopardy method? Let them wager on each question too. Sure the show would take forever, but we'd see each player's true score. I would only want to see this one time though. Can't take the buzzer out of the equation.

The only real hangup I have about Mayim is that she doesn't ask for a response on Daily Doubles when contestants are almost out of time.
