I recall in high school we watched the 1996 adaptation of Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio. We also watched Of Mice and Men from 1992 with John Malkovich, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

There were likely other films, but these three I remember the most.

I remember watching this in 9th grade English and our teacher made the most intentionally half-assed attempt at blocking the screen during the nudity part. I wish I could remember her name, she was one of the few good teachers at that school.

I took a "Filmography" class in High School in 11th grade. It was some new class that the Principle was trying out. We had ONE big group project for the entire session. The rest of the time we goofed around and we watched Pulp Fiction in front of the whole class! The teacher didn't give a shit! We could just say, "Hey teacher, this film is a work of art and we shoud watch it" and she would consider it.

Other than that, here are some other movies I remember.

Sadly, nothing good. It was mostly educational films, and the occasional weird straight to television movie no one has ever heard of. On a side note, I took a cross province bus one time and that's all they showed... we could have watched literally any movie at all, but we were watching Straight to TV horse movies. Thank god I have an issue where I sleep for long periods of time while travelling.

Now, that said, we read some really good books when I was younger. Wizard of Earthsea, most of the boxcar children books, I was introduced to Goosebumps.

I remember drivers ed. The teacher HAD to be with the kids driving, obviously. He would take two kids and they would switch off while he sat in the passanger side. The other 15+ kids would hang out in the gym or goof off while they waited their turn. I'm sure other schools did this differently.

Meanwhile my driving instructor took me downtown during rush hour for my driving lesson. In his words "if you can survive this, you can survive anywhere".

If it's the 60s version, the two actors are in the middle of a civil suit against the studio for making them do a nude scene while they were both underage.

Back to the topic, my high school history teacher made us watch "Black Robe" back in the day. He didn't even bother to fast forward through the graphic sex scene.
