An MGS2 remake would have been better

Better story

Better gameplay

Better dialogue

Better themes

Better setting

Not better main character

MGS2 is still the best game of all time baby. Imagine newcomers hearing the codec messages about information control, societal influence, memes, and then realizing they're playing a remake of a game that can legally buy alcohol.

I assume if this does well, we will get a remake of every other Metal Gear game besides 5 and stuff like Acid and portable ops

With all the rumors around a remake of the og mgs, there's probably a decent chance that they're working on some of the other games already.

Also as fitting as 2 would be for how things are right now, 3 is way better.

I know people are whining about the saturation of remakes but good remakes are wonderful and if they continue to be well made I'll buy them

It is the start of the metal gear story though...

Maybe they announced an MGS3 remake, will be showing trailers of an MGS3 remake, the box and digital storefronts will say it's an MGS3 remake, but when you start the game it's an MGS2 remake.

That would be in keeping with the spirit of the original MGS2.
