Are you dedicated to brand name items/products?

Depends on what the brand is.

Then why didn't you include "depends" as an option in your poll?

dedicated? no

trending more towards buying their products due to consistency? sure

i trend towards what's decent, and those brands are typically more expensive as it is, so it's not a bad idea to look towards a brand that consistently meets your expectations

if they started turning shit then i would not have any issues buying a different brands thing

I don't consciously have loyalty to a brand.

I do buy products because their brands are usually high quality. Like Nintendo and Google. (Usually)

I'm not loyal to my brand (Coke Zero) because of any sense of actual loyalty... it's simply because I like them the best and I would ditch them in a second if I found better

I always buy the knockoff brand of anything at least once. About half of the time it's just as good and I keep using the cheap one. The other half of the time I 'become loyal' to the original brand.

This. I've been a Mt. Dew drinker since I was a lad. Switched to diet and or zero sugar after I got diabetes. I hated other diet drinks and zero sugar. Then I found zero sugar Sunkist. Shit is amazing so Mt dew is now only a back up.

Then you got stuff like video game consoles. I've never been consistent in which brand I buy. It's all about which exclusives interests me the most.

Like I was gonna for sure buy a ps5 for God of war ragnarok. But then they goofed and released it on ps4 too. So now I'm leaning Xbox for Bethesda games. Originally I didnt cause while i love elder scrolls and fallout more than God of war they are huge time sinks and I don't have a lot of free time.

+1 on this. I have a bunch of Samsung home appliances because they tend to just work for me, and their customer service is generally good here. But any bad experiences and I can see myself pivoting.

This, though I won't deny that even if their products started becoming worse I'd resist choosing a different brand out of the hassle of finding a good one. But then there are plenty of products where I already just buy the cheapest available option among brands that I know are good enough, so I can be flexible.

In the sense that I might favor one brand over another for certain things, sure. That doesn't mean I will blindly follow them.

For example, I have pretty much been exclusively NVidia graphics cards for the last 15 years, but given their current business practices, my next card will likely be an AMD (if I don't get a Steam Deck first).

Unfortunately NVidia has a total hold on the compute graphics market, machine learning, physics, (this may or may not be amd's fault), so I won't ever be buying an amd card despite how much cheaper or more ethical they get.

Plus boycotts just straight up don't work. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they were pushed by companies to take away from real regulatory solutions.

To be fair, most of the graphics market today exists to keep graphics card companies alive. With how little graphics have improved over the last 10 years or so, there is no reason integrated graphics cards shouldn't be sufficient for all but the enthusiast PC gamers who are chasing triple digit FPS numbers in 8K. NVidia and AMD both know it, which is why they try to push stuff like Ray Tracing and PhysX despite the fact they arguably don't do much graphically and tank your performance.

There are certain brands I am absolutely loyal to. Not necessarily based on the product, but on how they've treated me. There have been a few that have gone ridiculously above and beyond to help me.
