Are there really places where people still mask up? I haven't seen anyone wear a mask in a long time. I might see the rare old person wearing one, but it's rare.

Nothing happened to it. It's still here. People just started pretending it went away.

A lot of friends and family died from it, seems like not remembering it of making light of it would be pretty fucked up, no? <_<

if have health conditions or don't want to be a red hat i would get it.

Yeah, even when I was at the Oncologist for my 6 month follow up no one was wearing a mask but me. I always wear an N95 when I go there because it's literally a room full of immunocompromised people. Most of them old. Even if I don't have COVID they still don't need me bringing whatever germs I've got into their lives.

yes everyone can get it. does cost money but insurance most likely covers most or all of it since it's a preventative treatment to prevent severe covid.

I had it last month and yes, people are still wearing masks here.

I still wear my mask when I go out. Had confirmed COVID around Christmas 2021, and my lungs haven't recovered since. I get out of breath very easily and struggle to get it back.

Unfortunately, I live in Ohio, so I'm pretty much the only person masking up anymore.

On the plus side, it gave me a great excuse to stop doing things I always hated but would get dragged along to anyway, such as eating in restaurants or sitting in a crowded, loud movie theater.

Where did this come from?

Oh I remember it all right. Ever since my sister got it back in December, she's lost like 90% of her stamina. She can't walk long distances anymore without running out of breath. It's called long covid.

In every facet of life its business as usual.

But then the rare client comes in with a death certificate where covid was a reason or associated reason.

So yeah, I get reminded here and there.

I just got over it for the second time last week. Body still hurts, it sucks. Dont recommend.

It made remote work the new norm. Obviously everything else about it was bad, but that silver lining shouldn't go unnoticed.

COVID is evil. Like, it's cool that not many people are dropping dead from it, but it's everywhere and each time you get some "mild" COVID, it's like you're doing a gacha pull from a long-term illness banner. Everyone I know that has had it ended up with either a ton of health problems or behavioral issues following COVID. Like being meaner or much less stable.

I still mask when going into hospitals and such, but not on a daily basis.

I only mask when I'm unwell or have known exposure these days.

To be fair, two of my five I only know about because Ive had to test twice a week since it all started for my job. They were symptomless. Unless people have been testing regularly Id say its fairly likely theyve had it without knowing.

We can't wear masks forever. i can't blame people for not wanting to wear masks anymore. People want things to be normal again and not live in fear.. Even I'm getting tired of it and I wore masks 2 years straight, and I'm starting to it wear it nearly as much.

What I hope now is the then people do get sick and show symptoms, they stay home. And obviously wash their hands and clean up after themselves more. And take their vaccines. Which I do think all the above is getting better than before COVID. It's just awful this had to be politicized.
