.......that they believe that many people who are not religious should stop trying to tell the religious that there probably is no god and just let the very religious believe what they want to believe, that they aren't hurting anybody. Do you believe that this happens a lot or have a problem with it?

oh, you mean, just let most religious people believe what they want to believe, they ain't hurting anybody? Do you also believe the same way with the religious maybe trying to convert the non religious etc.....?

Pretty much. We live in the 21st century and have access to information about any religion out there so it's not like you're going to be telling anyone good news by introducing them to some religion. We're all trying to figure out our way in the world and it's incredibly pompous to think that just because one of us thinks one way everyone will.

I've seen that online a few times, and I always have the same response: If their religion isn't harming anyone, then there's no problem.

Religion isn't harmless, but it's also not the root of all conflict and evil like some militant atheists like to portray it as. Even if humans never developed religion, we'd still have countless wars and massacres etc throughout history.

i kinda agree with this. But have heard many say, just let people believe what they want to believe, none of your business, etc...

That's largely the sentiment behind the various iterations of the "coexist" with various religious symbols image.

Pretty sure no one harasses people who keep their religion to themselves. What they do however is call out people who vote with it.

Would that religion isn't doing harm to anyone, not just within their own sect, but to those who don't believe. That's not the case though. When religion stops killing people, pervading my laws with nonsense, and generally stops being a fucking nuisance, then you can say it's 'harmless'.

Ye I kinda agree with you

I think everyone should be free to believe in any religion. Or none at all.

It should be kept out of politics, however. No secular legislation should be influenced by religious texts.

Render unto caesar, etc.

I mean most people, even religious people, will agree some religious beliefs do hurt people. You aren't going to win many people over trying to argue ISIS isn't hurting anyone with their religious beliefs.
