took more then 2 years but finally its happened. 57 bucks for one TB. I remember paying damn near 100 for my 512 GB one once the ps5 was updated to allow expansion, then extra money for the damn heat sink which couldnt be bought in any store near me for some reason so I had to wait 2 weeks to get that delivered from Amazon to use it.

I'm not experienced in this stuff but is that a good brand? Was looking to upgrade my new ps5s storage and only really knew of Samsung when looking stuff up.

Was also gonna ask if it has a heatsink but saw in the description that it does.

Damn, the price for the 4TB is basically the exact same as I paid for the 2TB internal expansion drive I am currently using. (I went with the gammix blade SSD and have had no problems with it, so I would be willing to try the one in that link).

No. Has to be certain size and write speed combination though else it wont work or wont fit.

I don't think we have reached the floor yet. These companies have a shitload of backstock on gen 3 and 4 drives.

If they want people to waste money on gen 5 drives, there should be better deals coming soon.

PS5 is good any gen 4 drives with read and writes over 5000 MB/s.

Your console storage will not be wiped since the m2 storage is not where the os lives. You can easily transfer saves and games.

Someone can be free to correct me if I'm wrong but

What's in the OP is an internal storage, not external. The difference is, when you install this, the PS5 has a system option of where you'd like to download games: Either it's native 600-700GB storage or this internal SSD expansion. With this internal storage, you can play games directly. With an external, you'd have to transfer it from the external to the native storage to play, which would be faster than downloading online.

Because it was expensive as fuck to not do it. Got a 5 tb hard drive for like 20-25 bucks more then my 512 gb ssd on Black Friday last year.

Personally I wouldn't install any non-WD Black series or Seagate nvme on a game console with specific requirements beyond read speed because the off brands tend to leave shit out for those without performance analyzers.

also they're just as cheap too. Gotta wait a year for the price drops.

I got a Samsung and its doing just fine despite not being officially branded. Branding only makes it more expensive anyway.

It wont as far as I know. Needs the sink to maintain speed and if speed cant be maintained it just doesnt work?

This is the exact same one I bought for my PS5. Had it for more than a year at this point and its been doing good for me, so *shrugs*

Jealous as hell since I paid like 216ish for the 2TB. God damn 4TB only like 30ish dollars more than I paid. Yeah, real jealous lol.

If I didn't just toss over 200 bucks at this star ocean 2 collector's edition (that square-enix took the money for asap) I would be buying the 4TB right now.
