After visiting that travesty of a site Lemmy, I can see why. Can't wait to see what July 1st brings.

I love Apollo. I will still actively use Reddit, but I see myself using it about 20% as much as I used to unless I find a better solution than their app. Its not god-awful, but its annoying enough I wont be scrolling through my Home Screen.

I probably won't be using reddit very much on mobile anymore because it's laggy as fuck and my phone's slow. The other day it took about three minutes before the app became responsive, probably because I'd left off after scrolling down some so it was trying to load everything above

I do 99% of my Reddit usage through Baconreader on my phone and tablet. If that doesn't work, then I won't be using Reddit at all.

I like the app just fine but then again I do 10 posts per page so what do I know

There are some subreddits that are completely overwhelmed with spam now, which makes me think the moderators were either dismissed or quit.

Same It works fine for what I use it for Just browsing a few things here and there I remember using on the apps before (I think Apollo) I dont remember much, but Inapparently deleted it not too long after. So, Im guessing I either didnt like it, or it didnt offer me anything extra that I needed

reddit charging a ton for their API which will kill third party apps is lame.

The thing is, the conversation shifted after a while to the mods. And, I can certainly say I do not care for the reddit mods, because on some subs they just did not even do their job(like letting low effort meme posts stay up because they got upvoted even if they do not actually fit on the sub per the rules on the sidebar).

So like, I don't know??

The drama was fabricated to begin with (like most drama these days is).

The real lesson is plan your rebellions better. And always have alternative options rather than just hoping things work out for the best.

Also, never count on the masses to support you. Les Mis should have taught everyone that one. Don't get up on your barricades assuming Paris is going to rise up with you.

About half the subreddits I visit closed, the other half stayed open. Almost all of them are open again now, and honestly I can barely notice anything different at all.

If I'd gone on vacation two months ago and just came back now, and didn't check the Internet the entire time, I wouldn't even know anything had happened, because it feels like nothing has changed.

About the only negative thing I've noticed lately at all is that I seem to be getting more spam follower notifications. But that started before all the drama.

Maybe more of mine are open, and I havent realized But I did know about the follower thing. Like you, it actually started happening some time ago. And its been quite a few in the last couple of months. When I use to get barely any of the spam ones for years

I've been using it for years and never had that issue. Might be your device.

A lot of the mods have been brigading the site, trying to fulfill their own prophecies. It's pretty pathetic.
