Their own article states that it happened 'toward the end of a philosophy course called Gender Issues.'

So not 'Gender Studies' then. But 'Three Stabbed In Philosophy Lecture' just isn't going to gain enough traction, is it?

Gender Studies is a distinct field of study with its own degree programmes. This was a gender component on a philosophy course.

The point is that they were teaching a class about gender issues, and some far right crank came in and attacked everyone because he thought they were "grooming" or whatever horror story he heard on conservative news.

Whether the course was officially a part of the gender studies department or not is not important information.

The local news is reporting it this way as well, we dont have a lot of information about the name of the teacher and such, but its clear based on the information this is a hate crime motivated by transphobia / anti-LGBTQ+ bigotry
