That's it? Putting aside how absolutely minor that is, that can be done with Invidious. Youtube music sounds incredibly lame too. Tell me when youtube brings back inboxes, annotations, community translations, their moderation system not being completely automated and abusable, when they start caring about accounts that don't have 10 million views again etc. etc.

What's Invidious?

It's very convenient, and I actually want to support the creators. Sounds like the vocal minority just want something for nothing.

I use premium but shit like this makes me want to cancel my subscription and find some workaround to block ads like I used to do with vanced back in the day. This shit is disgusting

They get a lot more per premium viewer than they would get from AdSense.
It's no even fucking close. A premium viewer is worth like 100x normal views.
I don't recall the actual numbers, LTT has talked about it many times.

If anything, it might actually hurt creators . . .

No. That's quite insane.

Best way to support individual creators is to watch and click the ads that pop up on their videos or donate to their patreons that most of them have..

Obviously dumping cash into their pockets is most effective way to support them, but I don't want to sign up for 50 patreons any more than I want to sub to every streaming service or pay for a cable subscription.
The cost benefit to me is, premium.
I'm not going to endure ads just to also pay the creator directly to minimize support for the platform.

Of course there are other streaming services depending on what your youtube looks like.
Nebula, Curiosity stream, Magellan, etc. which you can get for like $20/year.
If you only watched documentaries, those would be better options.

Typical CEman. Ignores anything that doesn't fit his narrative.

Twitter is already going that route. But the rest of you all, keep flailing about thinking you are fighting the machine. In the end, the machine always wins.
There's not a single piece of paywalled content that doesn't end up somewhere for free. Game developers have been fighting this battle for decades and still haven't found a solution. What is "winning" in this context?
