Couldn't she have just double checked the route via Google map before and during the drive to ensure she was heading towards her destination?

Considering her fear I'm not sure why she didn't think to do that.

To be fair, a person panicking because she thinks she's being kidnapped may not think she has the time to check that.

It also doesn't help that she's clearly irrational and crazy and should never have gotten in the car with someone if she's so paranoid and racist.

You don't even need to use Google maps for that. The Uber app itself shares the same exact route for both the driver and the passenger. This woman could have used either app to verify where she were heading but instead pulled out a gun and murdered her driver.

Both parties should sue Uber for creating this unsafe environment. Uber shouldn't be able to pass the buck when they know this is a problem. Some of the blame falls on them

Normal logic. There was no actual reason to shoot the driver since there were many other things she could have done instead.

It's really sad that it even has to be like this, granted that she isn't lying her face off. Either way, this is murder, no manslaughter here.

That's fucked up, if she was in the downtown area I probably know what signs she saw. I've accidentally found myself accidentally on my way to Mexico a few times, fortunately there's a u-turn for people who make that mistake. Which obviously wasn't the case here as it sounds like he wasn't even going in the direction of the sign, she just saw it and freaked out.

Says she was from Kentucky, I'm wondering how she even had a firearm. If she was just visiting and drove then she'd have her own vehicle, if she flew then she shouldn't have been able to bring it, and if her boyfriend gave it to her then he should be held on charges, but it's TX, so...
