Texas has had a Republican in every single statewide office for 30 years. How can a Democrat win in this state?

They won't. We're screwed. Too many life long conservatives that couldn't be fucked to interrogate their beliefs for one solitary second. Sunk cost at this point. They're in too deep.

Our side needs to do what they do. Run candidates in the other party saying everything they want to hear and when elected switch parties and ideology.

They never will. It's just engraved into the people's soul. Dem in Texas=automatic bad. You're better off winning a million in lottery.

The cities in Texas are blue. We just need to get them to vote.

Start winning local elections across the state is a good first step. Top down strategy simply cannot work in Texas.

Get the government to investigate the 2022 Texas election.

They need to focus on building their state party from the ground up, winning more local seats, and building their strength in the state legislature/judiciary. Without seizing at least some control from the GOP at the state legislature level, they will be at the mercy of laws designed to disenfranchise their voting base. I just dont really see a path to a statewide victory without first dismantling those systemic infrastructures (or at least curtailing them to the point that the states blue-shifting demographics can catch up with them).

We shouldn't be asking how people can vote for him. We should be asking why the DOJ isn't investigating Abbott for human trafficking. I'm getting tired of Democrats letting Republicans get away with being openly cruel and corrupt.

I doubt you can in Texas. I mean didnt Uvalde vote for the GOP even after the shooting? Even the democrats there like their guns.

Oh, and to be clear, I don't think Texas is remotely close to going blue. Beto vs Cruz being "close" had more to do with Cruz being a phenomenally bad candidate than Beto actually being good. Him assuming that he had major statewide or national legs from that was a big misreading of the room, imho.

There are more registered Democrats in Texas than registered Republicans. They just don't go out to vote.

A lot also straight up cannot vote. It isn't just an effort thing, these guys rig elections. They purge voter rolls. They put 300 polling stations in a county with less than 10000 people and 3 in a county with over 2 million.
