But heaven forbid people like ketchup on their dogs.

Seems so arbitrary and controlling to me.

Growing up around Chicago, its just not something you do. Now, I don't the vitriol some people show towards those who put it on. I just think that its nasty because I don't care for ketchup at all.

People just like to be elitist about things. I've seen several people online saying that people are supposed to "grow out of" putting ketchup on things. Just let people like what they like

It's roughly the same as why you want ketchup on the hot dog. Just in reverse.

It's a bit like wearing sports jerseys or a backwards hat. I don't really do the sports jersey too much anymore b/c I can get too warm but I wore a Claude Giroux jersey to a Phillies game (and I was out of town) someone stopped me and was like yeah you rock. And I was oh thank you I don't even live here but I love the Flyers. Just some local wanted to remark on my Flyers jersey at the ball game.

I can really go on a full ramble, I like ideas and maybe tossing around a topic or two but I don't like it when the person talking to you is just overly in your face like what you like means nothing to me.

I'm fairly certain it's against the law in Chicago to put ketchup on a dog in public. Kids can get away with it, but laws are different for kids

Chicago rules so hard! I live in a place where there are just slow af buses. And Chicago has the high speed tram. I feel like walking around with higher priced goods is more dangerous,but w/e when I went to Chicago it felt like the future to me. Also ppl were getting wasted and rocking out at some bar before a regular season early afternoon Cubs game. I didn't like to get that hype that early.

Hell, I love ketchup on a hotdog. Reminds me of childhood... Cheap hotdogs, white bread, canned Texas Pete chili and ketchup. Still eat that on occasion today (minus the Texas Pete, it's a different name now but basically the same).

I hate American sweet, basic, horrible ketchup. But like, I can see how it would be good with a spicy craft ketchup. Otherwise, it needs to be cut with mustard or it is too fucking sweet.

Good news. Heinz sells a bunch of condiments like that already mixed for your convenience. Just don't think about how much money you'd save in the long run if you mix it yourself.

Yeah, why have ketchup when you can experience the yeastiness of the processed bread!?

I'm not weird about it, but I only like ketchup with corn dogs. The sweetness of ketchup doesn't mesh well with the fatty/saltiness of a hot dog imo.

Mayo or bbq sauce. Ketchup if neither of those are available. Never mustard.

I'm a mustard fan, but I won't turn down a dog that's been pre loaded with ketchup.

I fail at the first thing. I put stuff on the bun and the hot dog on top of that. Keeps everything more secure.
