I love SMT jrpg gameplay, but I wonder if after the mass appeal of P5 they might go with something that appeals to broader audience? I would think they'd continue the formula that worked so well for them with the modern persona franchise. Do a jrpg/life sim for the main game, rerelease it with extra content later and then milk the hell out of it with spin offs and an eventual remaster. --- When money talks for the very last time, and nobody walks a step behind When there's only one race, and that's mankind, then we shall be free ... In a world without a cutting edge AAA JRPG franchise, it's crazy to me nobody wants to take the mantle. I've liked every mainline FF I've played but I do think they kinda missed the forest for the trees by shifting to a more action focus. Dragon Quest, Persona and I guess Yakuza are the closest to AAA budget JRPGs on the market and they're mostly pulled kicking and screaming into the new generations of hardware, certainly not the ones boldly going at least. Anyway to answer the OP - I don't want Persona to stop being turn-based but considering all these companies seem to think action-based is where the money is, I won't at all be shocked if it does. --- "I still have a tattoo to get, that says I'm living in the moment." ...
