Mint is great and its linux, bruh, you can install whatever DE you want. Fedora has many spins if you want KDE or something. Ubuntu has DEs aplenty as well. Cinnamon is my favorite DE though. Some games surprisingly run faster on Linux using a compatibility layer than they do natively on Windows, plus it's easier to install and play classic Windows games on Linux than it is on modern versions of Windows. You can also make it so that it functions exactly like Windows/macOS if you want. There's an advantage in performance too. There are people running modern Linux distros with up-to-date software on low-end laptops from over a decade ago.
