Boomers have hoarded all the 9-volt batteries leaving poor zoomers in danger of burning to ash at any moment!

Which I don't understand because they literally make 10-year battery smoke detectors now and you can usually get them for free through the government programs >_>

I have one smoke detector that is basically impossible to reach. How long does it take for the battery to fully die and they stop chirping?

...I should probably replace it though since it's above my furnace. Probably a good idea to have a smoke detector as close as possible to the machine that literally creates heat.

My ex girlfriend had a smoke detector in the hallway outside the apartment door that chirped constantly. It drove me nuts after being in the apartment only 20 minutes, but she refused to do anything about it because 'that's the landlord's responsibility.' Yeah that's true, except it's annoying as hell and takes 2 minutes to fix. Sometimes you've got to just suck it up.
