For as much complaining as people do about jobs not paying enough, there seems to be an abundance of people with enough disposable income to pay people for shit like this still.

The people that are working and struggling to make ends meet are probably too busy to watch this or spend money on them

Thousands of different people dropping $1~$20 is a bit different than if there were one single employer offering $4k an hour.

Also for every one person doing this well, there's dozens if not hundreds of content creators that will probably never even see 10 simultaneous viewers at a time.

I wasn't saying it's dangerous for the tiktoker.

I was purely bashing the simps who donate money to her on the regular. Especially a lot of money. I bash simps who donates money on the regular to OnlyFans as well.

The only reason I don't like this is that I wish my job paid more

I can't be mad at someone that wants to consensually give someone else money

That's still absurd.

I'm not judging this genius who came up with the idea of acting like a lobotomized glitching NPC to make tons of money.

But watching this, and even spending money for this? And that's already assuming it's truly only a dollar per person. I'm pretty sure a lot of that money comes from a small group of regulars.

I can't wait for the next articles like "I / my 16 year old son spent 300$ a month for tiktok emotes on an NPC stream"

My mistake for misunderstanding your question. Coincidentally if I had to guess my answer is still the simps. Simps cause a lot of problems directly and indirectly to creators.

The topic itself is rather complex given content creators have a love hate relationship with simps. But I can oversimply what I think the artocle may be getting at.

Their livelihood is contingent on catering to simps or at the very least being ambiguous to simps which is their primary base of income.

I find simps to be sad, pathetic, and frankly a possible threat to content creators or even themselves. This often causes backlash on the content creator from not just simps, but non simps observing. Backlash that can be mental or even literal abuse like trolling, bullying, doxing and more. Top that, with the internet being the internet with nuanced conversations being a rarity. Nuanced conversations often spiral into tribal binary sides to a nuanced discussion making the content creator the center of attention for (possibly but not always) unwanted drama.

Anyway, this post ended up longer than I originally planned since this is such a complex issue I oversimplified. The TLDR guess I have is, simps are a threat to content creators and themselves.
