Can't help but think about the poor unfortunates who are deemed "possessed" and given exorcisms instead of getting actual medical help. Saw a documentary years ago about one particular girl who was being exorcised for months before dying, then an autopsy showed neglected mental conditions. Emily Rose is a very underrated film. I like spooky movies, but I'm not a big fan of gore, so it's right up my alley. What I loved about the first 2 seasons is that it leaves the audience questioning whether if something is real or not. But the later seasons I'm asking myself: "wait, the whole demonic shit is real now?" Just finished it. The was just... Not a great movie. The pacing wasn't great, and most of the actual trial stuff was beyond silly. Not to mention the judge had some painfully bad acting. She certainly wasn't bad, but I don't think they gave her enough. Acting crazy and over the top doesn't really feel nuanced if we don't get to see her 'normal' IIRC she's been solid in other things, but the movie's direction just wasn't great imo. --- Cookin like a chef, I'm a 5 Star Michelin ...
