Assuming they cost around the same as other action movies... there is no way there's enough audience to support seven movies.

I am really sad to say that at this point Joker is the only one I expect to be good and I've been a rabid MCU fan since the beginning.

Thunderbolts has potential, but I'll be honest--it's becoming more and more clear that the MCU is desperately trying to maintain hype after losing most of its classic roster. No RDJ, no Chris Evans, unfortunately no more Chadwick Boseman...and losing at least half of the Guardians cast...? It's an uphill battle, and they're gonna have to do better than random B-listers to get audience attention back.

Plus all this controversy with Kang has been a damper on the enthusiasm for this phase, too.

MCU does not have a hype problem it has a quality problem. They need to be scaling back production and going back to phase level of releases, let some talented people make some good movies with minimal interference then take the characters from there.

And Thunderbolts has potential, but I was already disappointed that it wouldn't be doing close to the initial run which is one of my favorite comics ever, but now after SI I'm officially not expecting anything quality from Marvel :/

Also consider how many plot threads they have, ESPECIALLY if you count credit scenes. Phase 1-3 were almost exclusively using them to set up future movies - Avengers being one of the notable exceptions, setting up a big bad threat that paid off huge.

Now we have about a dozen unresolved subplots and they keep adding more

And I think the D+ shows were a great idea but they didn't commit where they needed to. Serious shows should not be getting the length they are. They should be a full run, and it's frankly ridiculous that after FATWS they learned NOTHING when going into Secret Invasion.

Ironically, they're starting to do the very thing that led to a massive decline in comic sales in the 90s. Oversaturating the market, and making it very difficult for new fans to get started.

It was easy when it was just..."watch these key movies, they have most of the important plot relating to the stones and Thanos"

As time goes on, it only gets harder to tell people where to start. Honestly, I just tell people "watch in release order, but stop after endgame. Then just watch what looks fun, because the latest phase has been a disjointed mess."

Marvel is pretty much dead at this point, even putting their quality aside most of t the initial roster has been either killed off or retired in lore. Or other projects entirely irl.

And the new blood can't replace them.

A full on reboot with a new and young cast of the initial roster is probably they're only option.
