So it sounds like it is too late to do anything about this. Even if we had net zero emissions starting now, the planet would continue warming for well past that time frame. Yay.
If you want significant negative emissions, you'd need to do shit like grow millions of tons of trees and then bury them. While using clean energy for the planting, removal, transportation and burying.

It's never too late to do anything with these kinds of problems. Always remember, "it can always get worse."
Because it can.

I've heard of an idea where we allowed half of the planet to be left wild and untouched by humans

https://youtu.be/ICyMaJKbujk

It would require many populations of people to leave their land though. But maybe that would give the earth a chance to heal

I'm talking about this particular problem. To avoid this, you'd need to rapidly remove enough carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere to stop additional warming. Just freezing things at the current level results in a couple centuries of continued climate change, which is well beyond the timeframe given here for Atlantic current collapse.

Stopping things from getting even worse is good, but for this, you'd want people to assume this is happening no matter what and start working on ways to deal with it.

This is just called defeatism. This type of attitude just contributes to the existing lack of effort to change anything and it benefits the right wing / big business greatly, since it helps spread apathy over change while the same old assholes get richer without having to care about long-term consequences.

Unless you have a very strong scientific understanding of how this is all unfolding (what all processes are being affected, what disruption to these mean, what possible means of recovery are, etc) and what all the risks are, you aren't even in position to say "it can't get better" or something is "unavoidable."

Even if you didn't think we had enough time/resources to fix these problems, are you still OK with the very rich and powerful abusing the ignorance of the masses and spreading propaganda / diminishing the quality of education to accomplish this?

Regardless of whether we can do anything about the environment, we should still resist these assholes at every step. Conservative logic is a cancer on society in every area, not just environment.

Yes, because polls consistently show that liberals don't care about the environment and liberal politicians never try to pass legislature around environmental regulation right? Lmao, get out of here with that bullshit.

Anyways, the way you fix the problem of the very rich and powerful abusing the population / trashing the world for their own benefit is actually the same way you solve the majority of issues plaguing society - by stopping or limiting their influence in politics, which in America would mean stopping or destroying the Republican party. The Republican party is already in a death spiral, but it'll take too long for it to occur naturally, so if we want to actually see things like living wages, social equality, protecting the environment / etc any time soon, we should proactively speed up the demise of the party of big business interests. Even regular citizens can help beyond voting by spreading the word to those they know.

In other words, you can actually 'solve' our issues with proactively damaging the environment without actually having to specifically attack the problem. You can just oust conservatives and we'd naturally start moving in the correct direction on the majority of issues.

I meant the planet is fucked, but us humans will prob find some way to live while everything around us is just getting destroyed. As a said we are a parasite, a non symbiotic parasite on this planet.

Just an understanding of human nature. We will do nothing, those who try to do anything will fail our nature as humans and the society humans have built makes it impossible to fix this in fact, if anything we're more likely to make it even worse out of petty spite and malice just because "eh fuck those motherfuckers" to put it bluntly. Humanity as a whole is constantly in "Fuck you I do what I want!" mode

This attitude is largely caused by the heap of other negative social/economic influences we're feeling, almost solely due to politics sponsored by the rich and powerful (if America, then the Republican party).
If you start giving people more leeway by raising living standards / providing living wages / giving people a lot more free time to spend doing enjoyable activities, these kinds of negative attitudes would dissipate; those that still voiced them would be easily drowned out by those that aren't consumed by negativity.

I don't blame people for feeling apathy, despite that I disagree with the reasoning used to justify apathy, because I understand just how much conservative bullshit has ratfucked the populace.
