Sticking people in a coffin is a waste of good organic material.

If you are buried, the energy stored in your body doesn't go to waste. It feeds worms, bacteria, plants. Goes back to being a part of the life cycle.

Hard to make a case for it being so useful as ash.

Outside the fact that you arent directly giving large sums of cash for a loved one to an industry that basically takes advantage of something like a burial.

Depends on the size I guess. Golf courses would be easier to convert to farmland.

Cremation seems a lot better, scatter the ashes. I don't need a permanent resting place just to take up space.

That's irrelevant to my point.

The energy stored in your body is being returned to the Earth. Paying someone slightly less to waste it doesn't seem the best alternative.

Personally, I just want to be cremated and have the remains put in the Pacific. I can see the benefits of the composting thing though.

Otherwise, unless you're doing mummification, you're wasting time and effort. It all breaks down to nothing eventually.

My understanding though is that most people who believe in the possibility of resurrection still want to have whatever is left of their body around.

As it relates to family, everyone accounted for and close to each other is a slight positive. For instance, I recently found that I've visiting my great grandmother's grave for decades but her marker was so weathered by the elements.

Do any of you believe in the possibility of resurrection? possibly many people who want physical burial do believe in its possibility , wonder what percent though

According to the source of the belief, where the body is has no bearing on the actual resurrection. All those bodies lost to space would get 'found' too.

Personally no.

To my mind though, if resurrection were possible, that being capable of doing it wouldn't be too troubled by the presence or absence of a rotted corpse.

Some religions require burying the dead (Islam requires burial within 24 hours of death, for example).

Funerals in general are such a scam.
Combine that with the fact that there's virtually no space left in most big city cementaries and it's not affordable to die, lmao.

Personally, idgaf what happens to my body after I'm gone, but the idea of slowly decomposing is kind of unsettling. Being thrown into a particle accelerator and instantly disintegrating seems like the best option.
