They would add in older single player Final Fantasies, playable somehow within the mmo game. You'd be able to play inside your player housing or in the game's version of Las Vegas, the Golden Saucer. Kind-of an interesting idea. I wonder how much of the series could run inside the FF14 client. They could for sure at least do the first 6, I'd assume. But I wonder how much of later games. Like, would it be possible to run 13? I wonder what the most recent game is that could run without problems

It's fascinating the way the FF14 devs have dealt with growth and endgame by slowly turning 14 into more of a persistent world and less of a straight MMO. You've got card games. You've got gambling. You've got an island to manage. You've got a chocobo to raise and another to race. You've got gardening and fishing. You've got beast tribes to trade with. You've got books to put stamps in. You've got vistas to explore.

I completely understand who some people, especially 11 players, don't like how shallow 14's gear grind is, but my god does the game give you a million different activities to do for every different type of player. Your hardcore players can do Savage and Unreal, your casual players can play Animal Crossing on their private island. Your creative players can join a band, or do interior decorating. It's crazy.

Article says they probably will make you buy them. FF14 has a cash shop

They would either make you buy them, or it would be earned through an achievement or maybe be a really rare drop in some dungeon or raid. But I'd probably bet on buying them in the cash shop
