Looking at Zidane's stats from yesterday, he finished 6th the year after he won, although that was with a 75 character roster.

in newstats era, Rydia finished 19th following her win, I think that's good enough.

If you count 2 days for the final then that's 181 days, eliminated day 82.

(Squall close behind at 178 days)

did vivi return better after the first win or the second win

By pure placement it will always be Cecil following up with a 3rd

Which is exactly what happened with Rydia. The day she won is the last time we ever saw Shoe on B8.

iirc Shoe hung around to get Rydia through boots the next year and then bailed

Looks like Rydia has the record for most consecutive rounds with the 19th place finish. So that's what you'd have to beat if you wanted to surpass that.

Yeah lefty will post the winner-follow-up stats when (if???) Ramza's eliminated so don't want to step on his toes there, but that Cecil follow-up performance... tough to see how that can ever be matched, but anything's possible.

I mean a Ramza/Aerith rematch remains a distinct possibility. If we can flip the result and then get the TRILOGY FIGHT rubber match next year, lol

Lightning is probably up there. She won Year 2 of lefty and hasn't been strong ever since

Steiner's had almost as big of a downfall. :(

two have larger disparities, one each direction - Ramza in the positive direction and Laguna in the negative direction

(they'll both drop behind Cloud once they place though)

Well the plan was to drop her like a hot potato after Day 57, but I see Shuyin was eliminated on Day 61 last year, so maybe if we can get past that point.... ;)

Yeah I had no time to check anything and just saved Cindy even though it was a little too late.

I don't mind losing Cloud. It's weird that he was my least favorite of the core four from Remake, but that's just a testament to how great Tifa, Aerith, and Barret all are.

He protects Quina, if I remember right. When in doubt, Zidane protects.

I'm sure he does not protect Quina. This is why he has been eliminated.

Protects Quina 50% of the time, doesn't protect the other 50%
