The game is a very solid remake. And there was a considerably amount of rebalancing done for the games.

If you plan to take on No Future and Expert mode, make sure that whichever team you plan to play with has all of their equipment first. Also, I only recommend playing Normal or Hard on your first playthrough, and if you swap to the other team, don't take on Expert or No Future. Both of those are balanced around new game plus.

The English dub is awful either play in Japanese or turn the voice audio off. Unfortunately the subtitles are actually dubtitles so one character in particular will still have awful subtitles. Other than that, it's a great game.

It's a great game. I definitely enjoyed No Future. It adds quite a bit of a challenge to it-- it's nothing I would casually play on repeat, but it was certainly an experience.

The worst part about no future was that one wind elemental boss that fights you at close range in a small area so you have basically fuck all space to avoid its attacks. I remember it being some serious bullshit.

starting a new file on this game my self as i never finished it but its been 3 years since i last played lol so i dont remember anything

Absolutely. The 2nd wind boss is garbage. My friend saw me fight that and was like "damn, I'm not sure I could beat this mode."

Really enjoyed the remake. Fun plat, too, and not too difficult or grindy (that I remember; I played it on release.

So how does the remake compare to the original? Has the original aged well?

from what i under stand the original is a broken mess of code that its a miracle it functions you can break the game in your favor just by sneezing in it

in terms of context you may know its about half was to being as broken as pokemon gen 1

To see all the endings you need to play the game three times, my suggestion is if you pick Angela first, you should pick Duran second. Then pick Charlotte third.

For your second playthrough, pick either Reisz or Hawkeye first, then pick the other one second, then pick Kevin third.

That gets you everyone onto the same level with zero overlap.

From here, pick either Kevin or Charlotte first, then just pick whoever.

i really wish they had gone the octopath traveler rout to just let you expereince the entire story for each character

Remake is much better outside of the original having 2 player.

Off the top of my head:
1) Crits don't work
2) Agility as a stat doesn't help with evasion like it should and only works to slow down the roulette for trap chest.
3) Lots of glitches like your cast times still "casting" while you are in the menu.
4) Duran's shields don't work for anything aside from the raw defense they provide.
5) Buffs and Elemental stacking works jank. If you give yourself a buff, and THEN put elemental on will result in the elemental property overwriting the buff, so you have to do it very precisely.
6) Kevin's werewolf form was absolutely broken as it wasn't supposed to give you such insane buffs from my understanding but does.
7) Some classes were significantly worse to the point that they were basically useless.
8) Your special bar would sometimes just not be consumed when used which allowed you to spam it. In some cases it didn't empty fast enough for you not to use the move AGAIN.
Remake fixes a lot of things like:
Angela being bad. She's amazing in every difficulty but Expert.

If you can't play with friends, don't bother with the original unless you're playing a modded version.

That won't work, as Duran and Angela have the same final dungeon. Each group has a storyline together:

Charlotte and Kevin, Hawkeye and Riesz, and Duran and Angela. All teams in this game are pretty solid, you just have to pick the right dark or light combos for each party. Oh, but you did make me think of something though: if you have Charlotte on your team and she's not your leader, always select her as your third party member. You'll get your full team faster than anyone else.

Angela / Duran having the same dungeon is exactly why you should pick them together. The goal is to see all of the endings in the fewest amount of plays while also keeping levels equal as you cycle through new game plus.

To be honest, as long as you have a different leader you should be fine overall. TBH, I find Charlotte and Kevin together to be kind of weak. The rest of them are solid as Duran can go Duelist / Paladin routes with Angela (doesn't matter, her role is always the same). Riesz and Hawk are meant for each other with their buff / debuff schtick as well.

And realistically, the best team for No Future is Hawkeye (light-light), Archmage (Light-Dark), and then Riesz's Fenrir Knight is by far the easiest team for it.

But yeah, fair, IDK why I read that as you saying "leader order."

IDK but honestly there's not much reason to play the mana collection version anymore. The new game straight up surpasses it.
