Because, from where Im standing, they dont do anything but bite people and spread disease. Yet there are people who are against spraying for them.

If there's one animal I'm okay with wiping completely off the face of the planet, it's mosquitos.

It's not the mosquitos per se that ultimately contribute to the millions of deaths in Africa every year (even if they're the cause) - it's the fact malaria medication isn't cheap enough for most of the affected to afford.

I remember reading Mosquitos are incredibly important for food chains.

you realize that there's others insects and animals that eat them and without them they could go hungry and if they went hugry and started dying that could affect other things and other animals that eat those animals and eventually we would be the ones getting hungry

everything in nature affects something else, all life on earth is connected in some way

Bat food and bats produce an ingredient that's good for farming, it's actually kind of crazy how mosquitos are directly important for human survival as it stands today

TBF, there's a lot of other bugs that most other creatures that eat Mosquitoes can eat instead as well. For humans, I can only see a net positive if all mosquitoes were wiped out the face of the earth, but for other creatures and enviroments? There would probably be some things that will directly impact them while indirectly impacting humans as a result, I'm just not smart enough to predict what that would be lol.

They suck, but it seems as though they do serve a big purpose in the ecosystem. I heard scientists are making mosquitos that don't bite or something.

They're pollinators like butterflies.

They only sucks blood to develop eggs because they need the protein.
