Kim_Seong-a 08/05/23 10:46:49 PM #1:	Like it'll do something that makes me go "oh, this is so cool!" and then 5 minutes later make me go "this is fucking stupid", then 5 minutes after that say "wait, no, it's cool again!" Sector 7 Slums are great. Scrotum Ghosts are stupid. Making the circumstances surrounding the first bombing a bit more complex to flesh out the morality and characterization of Avalanche is cool. But wasting an hour of my life on some do-nothing sidequest capping off with a fight against some jackass on a motorcycle is stupid. Nevermind the game pestering you with micro-cutscenes every few minutes asking "Hey player, are you going the right way? This is the right way player, did you figure that out? Just to let you know, you're going the right way. Keep going this way!" Jesucristo just fucking let me run these dungeons damn lol. Or slowing Cloud down to a snail's pace for no goddamn reason. "Uh-oh, Cloud's inside somebody's house. Better make him move like molasses". That's not immersion it's just fucking annoying <_< Making Jessie into a drama geek is amazing though and I love her even more. This is counterbalanced by the game turning Wedge from a dumb, but inoffensive side character into the absolute bane of my existence. Game is fun but the more I play the more I feel like dropping it and just playing the original lol. Only thing keeping me going is the Yuffie (aka best FF character) DLC. I will not be deterred by petty annoyances of modern AAA gaming. I will reach Yuffie. ...also where the fuck is my FF9 remake, Square?! Every story beat was stretched out, every section of the game had multiple times where your just ran back and forth down corridors fighting enemies. You can cut 5-7 hours (at least) of the game and lose absolutely nothing. And I really don't feel like ~~the whole "This is a new timeline, the original game happened and we're undoing it because of magic. The side missions are fully optional. Problem is a chunk of the main quests are boring too. It's a very padded game. They try to make up for how little of the OG the remake actually covers by stretching everything out. Kim_Seong-a 08/05/23 11:49:09 PM #18:	Honeslty I kind of liked the few side quests I've done so far. They're basic but there's enough flavor to them that they make the world feel a little more alive. I'm a sucker for a fun world/setting. I can stomach trite gameplay objectives so long as the world I'm in feels fun to do it in. Removing the consequence of Zack dying kinda defeats half the drive of the backstory and considering you won and save the world in the OG, it becomes kinda weird that as the player you're effectively fighting to risk destroying the world by changing history. People being able to see them spreads like a virus, essentially. Removing the consequence of Zack dying kinda defeats half the drive of the backstory and considering you won and save the world in the OG, it becomes kinda weird that as the player you're effectively fighting to risk destroying the world by changing history. Granted the future installments might go somewhere but at present it's just bad. Why would people react to something they cant see? OG FF7 is the bad end seeing as humanity died out in the future and Advent Children shows us the start of that. Zach is still dead, but in an alternate timeline he survived. Am I forgetting something, it did you not see the end of advent children where ~~Cloud saved the day, holy activated in proper, and everyone who was still suffering from geostigma was healed?~~ Yeah, I really hope they improve on some of the more annoying parts of the remake in Rebirth. I personally don't mind the minor story changes much though. As long as they don't go too far with it anyways. Also, considering that we know that there's only going to be 3 parts, Rebirth is gonna have to cover an insane amount amount of story compared to Remake. I hope the opposite issue doesn't arise with the game feeling like it doesn't have enough padding, or that they are flying stuff to make it all fit or anything.
