I've never played any of these games*.
Also, RPG's are long. Probably only going to play one on each, and I don't have to start with the first one if it's weak.
*I kinda did play FF3 USA a bit since I own it, so uhh. 1 out of 12 ain't bad.
Overall I like Mega Man more the FF as a franchise, I have no idea if this helps as these are RPG's

1 is weak but it's weak because it's short, so whatever. It's fine to start with it

All, in order.

Megaman BN.
Sadly BN1 is outdated, start with BN2 is fine.

Skip 1 and 4

Nah play 1 still, just use the new features in the collection to make it more bearable. And play 4 until you get credits once, with the understanding that you've only seen roughly 40% of the content (the tournament scenarios are different on each NG+)

Yeah play 1 but dont be afraid to turn on the cheat buster from time to time to reduce grinding and/or dont bother completing every quest.

Back in the day I started with MMBN 2 and I was just fine. I missed some stuff but I got the context of what was going on just fine so you can skip it if you want.

That said when I get to this collection I'm definitely playing 1.

So I started MMBN 1
These games are nothing like I thought they were going to be lol
It's like an action card game, which was unexpected and rather fun!

Also....I read no instructions, so I had no idea I could use the arm cannon in battle till way later then I'd like to admit lol. Game got a lot easier after that lol

My first RPG was FFX a few years after it released and I was like almost out of High School lol.

Been reading a lot of people suggesting to skip MMBN1 and I just strongly disagree with this
I played it again 2 months ago, and yes, it did age badly, but the game story is so short compared to later entries and if you just focus on the game story it's totally fine
Not being able to run from battles like in the next games is a pain in the ass, but you can have 5 Escape chips in your folder and it should be fine
Internet design sucks and is confusing but using maps fix that
And besides if you just play the story, you barely have to navigate the Internet anyway - only in like 2 scenarios

MMBN1 is only really a problem if you want to 100% it. Getting every chip is painful because of shitty RNG
