Consuming eggs is fine until it comes from a factory farm. I don't think you'll find too many vegans who would agree with that stance. Even eating a pet chicken's eggs has its issues. If you bought the chicken you have likely given money to a hatchery that does all of the evil things a factory farm does and more. I guess you can get around this by adopting a rescue chicken from an animal sanctuary. Egg-laying chickens have a lot of health issues related to being bred to lay so many eggs. If you're doing what's best for your chicken you can get them implants to prevent them from laying eggs. If you can't get implants for your chicken you can feed the eggs back to the chicken in order to replenish the nutrients it lost.
