Ignoring what the law is, what do you think it should be? If someone makes you kill someone at gunpoint, should you be found guilty of a crime?

you can't kill the hostage taker that's the point they have a gun to your head and the finger on the trigger and will kill you if you make any sudden moves

So what's preventing the innocent person from escaping, then? If it's just one thug, easy enough to stab them instead of the innocent.
