Do you think given your backlog and what already exists that you could be satisfied with "gaming" for the rest of your life with what is available to you?

A new game is never made again, and ongoing titles just get bug fixes, no new content.

Will you be satisfied with what is currently available?

I mean, I have a huge backlog to finish off, more than I'll ever finish in my lifetime.

There are already way more amazing games than I could ever fully play and enjoy for the rest of my life and thats not including the ones I already love and play forever so yeah, id be fine.

With the last game ever being released, we can look back and ask ourselves whether or not Custer's Revenge truly was the most offensive video game of all time.

Humanity needs to stop making so many games.
We need to catch up

I'd be sad about the abrupt end of their history and never getting to see how the technology keeps going more than anything else.

I find this disturbing on many levels.

I'm getting older, and don't play as much as a result.

with that said, there are a lot of RPGs that have a good amount of replayability, and there are tons of PC games that I've never played.

also, games look so good these days, I don't think I'll miss them looking better or anything like that.

I can do without console gaming.

This might sound heretic, but even mobile gaming is more enjoyable than AAA modern console games.

As long as the current live service games continued operation, I'd be just fine. Keep raiding CE in WoW, check out the new PoE season every few months. Maybe even go back to playing MTG again at some point.

I'd be just fine, the last new game I got sucked into anyways was Red Dead Redemption 1, and that was like 13 years ago. New games mostly don't appeal to me at all.

I'd manage for the rest of my life, I think, though if I manage to make it to retirement I might start burning through things faster. I've got a pretty hefty backlog and no shortage of roguelikes or repeatable/campaign-based games I enjoy that push close to infinite replayability.

I would request a caveat that things currently in development be allowed to finish though or at least close-to-release ones. Otherwise I'd be left staring wistfully at would was going to be Armored Core 6...

However that's also speaking with the thought of "video games" staying in their current form. If I'd be cutting myself off from something like actual, good VR stuff that might come about in the future during my life, that's a much harder sell. That's far enough in the future that it's hard to tell if it's even a possibility in my lifetime, though.

Replaying stuff rather than trying something new is a problem I have, so I'd be fine

I'm still playing old games.

New games don't do it for me most of the time. Either they're such heavy time investments that I stop caring or there's too much auxiliary bullshit.

Every so often a game like TotK comes out and I get sucked in for a while but when it's done I'd rather just open up and play through Breath of Fire 3 again.

My backlog is like 700 or so games, probably would only play a third to completion and not like some. Id rather stuff keep coming.

Like everybody said here we all got a backlog of shitloads of games we want to play. I honestly wouldn't mind if this actually happen just give us a five-year hiatus.

Trust me... I can't. Baton Kaitos alone takes 120 hours to fully finish, and that's just one game. But I don't mind going back and finishing these older titles.

My backlog and wish-to-replay list starts at 8 bits. I would be fine.

Yeah, I'd be alright. Like others said, I have a backlog to go through.

Between all platforms I have hundreds of games I havent beaten or even played. Id be totally fine.

Countless Doom megawads and game randomizers could keep me content for a long time.

I would realistically want more. Like I'm pretty sure I could fully beat the rest of the Assassin's Creed games in a year. We need more.

Sure, I'd probably have like 20 years of video games, and I don't know if I'd really care for them much after that, or have the time to play them or whatever.

However, I don't think I'll be satisfied until we get things like completely realistic graphics, true VR mmos, nerve gear, and so on.

Maybe that would be for the best.

i don't think i'll ever get sick of invading in the souls series and elden ring, so sure.

if no new games were ever made it might even push more people back to ds1, which is still active as all holy hell.

The silver lining to something like that would be a shitload of reverse engineering and porting projects, kind of like how Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time got decompiled and given native ports to all kinds of platforms.

I still play ADOM and have never beaten it once without save scumming. I would be absolutely thrilled to beat it legit and could probably work on it for years before accomplishing that. I'd be ok with no new games...

I probably still wouldn't be able to get through my backlog.

Even if I never caught up on my backlog, I'd still be disappointed that no new games release. I like to see technology advance.

I will not be satisfied until Ultrakill is finished

While there is certainly plenty to play, the idea that games would never again evolve or innovate isn't something that I would willingly accept.
