Hard to believe it's been a year since it finished.
At the time, I thought BCS was much better than BB. Better characters, better overall storyline, better ending. Now, I kinda feel the same way, but I feel BB is just a lot more memorable than BCS. More cinematic, I guess. I only watched BCS once, but I'm in the process of watching it a second time with director commentary. --- SSBM_Guy "[Freud] started his scientific career by trying to explain the sexuality of a fish. I've always enjoyed BCS more because I'm a legal nerd and I thought it was an easier watch and less stressful than BB.

I feel like I never heard about after it came out, until it got the end. So is it a case where the ending/final season is just that good? Is the middle...middling?

I think BrBa is slightly better but it's insanely close and BCS has Kim, my favourite character in either series, and more Mike (who is probably #2).

I would say Breaking Bad is better, if only because it feels more focused. The whole show is the story of Walt and Jesse. BCS is great when it's about Jimmy, and great when it's about Gus/Mike, but the two plotlines feel wildly disconnected.
