I agree that the video is too HD to be mid 2000s but the song is a bop. The lyrics are the only part of the song that feels like parody; putting that aside it feels like a straightforwardly good new song in a long-abandoned genre. It's great in the same way that E-Rotic is great. They even call out several E-Rotic songs in the lyrics.

Eh I feel like it's a parody that come from a place of appreciation (if not love), it certainly doesn't feel like it's mocking the genre to me.
