Congratulations to Chiki Chiki Ban Ban as our first champion!

A dominant run early on beating Talking, NO,Thank You! and Shikisai without trouble.
Touch and go in a close affair with another recent OP in Idol.
It was back to business as usual in the final with a comfortable win over the classic A Cruel Angel's Thesis.

A bit early to say if this OP will stand the test of time, but in 2023 it's B8's favourite.

Thanks to all for taking part, hope it was a fun thing. I normally only run SMFAS but did like doing something new for a change.
If another contest is run next year, the field will be entirely different and the bracket will most likely be randomised.
Bravket would be kept at 64 entries only though.

It definitely is one of the better OPs in getting you interested in watching the anime without any context, and a great song even if it's a cover. Cute dance moves, good winner even I would have preferred a couple others to win

Nice, good winner. Idol essentially the real runner up considering how close it got.

CCBB isn't my favorite from the bracket, but it's undeniably fun and clearly has wide appeal. It's a good winner!

Thanks for running the contest, voltch. I enjoyed it, and it has introduced me to a few anime I otherwise mightve never looked at.

After my overall favourite only my railgun was knocked out, I was all aboard Idol winning.
Glad to see it had one of the strongest showings.
I don't see it as a FOTM type of OP.
I also fully expect it to be one of the few anime songs performed at the NYE show.

But CCBB, I don't think too many people have even seen Ya Boy Kongming, so maybe the OP will help with that.
Good to see that other OPs in the field have led to people checking out new shows.

Though it was a little funny seeing a few ask about DomeKano after showcasing an impressive OP and then being told to avoid it at all cost.

Yup pretty much. Would have preferred several others but really can't complain about this one!

This was great too lol. I added the OP to my rotation since it's such a great song but this'll be one that I don't think I will be watching haha

Disappointing winner but there were some real gems in the bracket that were new discoveries for me, so that's cool at least !

i think ccbb is my favorite entrant in the contest, very happy it won

CCBB is the only one that stood out for me out of every other song that I didn't know. It is THAT good

voted against CAT every single round, whew. Nice finish and yeah, I am one of the several who are getting roped in to watch Ya Boy Kongming! based on the OP so, very nice.

Can someone compute x-stats on this so we can take solace in the losses of some of our favs? lol

I watched Ya Boy Kongming when it was airing but the OP was also the main reason why I gave it a try back then.

I definitely didn't expect CCBB to win the whole thing when it first appeared in this contest, but it is a pretty fun and catchy song, so I can't complain about it winning. Kiri would've been my preferred winner overall, and I'm glad it got in without my help. Nice to see Kawaki no Ameku and Idol do well as well. And again, my favorite new discoveries were Paranoia Agent and Kid. Still listen to both of those pretty often. Thanks for running this voltch, even if I would've preferred it if we judged them purely based on the songs and did the full versions of the songs instead. Maybe an idea for a future contest.

I've had an anime music contest similar to vgmc (smaller scale obviously) in the back of my head as something I'd like to do for a while, but I've never been convinced there was an audience here for it.

This is the case for about 90% of all good anime openings. The full version rarely comes close to the tightly edited version.

Also I am absolutely stunned the Vinland Saga - Paradox did not make this bracket. One of the best OPs I've ever seen. I guess it's just too new?
