Lol nice

Went out professional. Probably the right choice. Not as funny as posting porn or something. But still good.

Is the 90 days thing weird? My company is like that where you dont get insurance benefits until after your 90 days. Like 90 days is a probation period

I would never tolerate a company that does a probationary period for benefits. One of my biggest red flags during interviews and I tell them.

Basically everyone does it. Not just for insurance too. Things like matching retirement are subject to being "fully vested"

Thankfully the ACA stepped in about pre-existing conditions. I once had a job that not only had a 90 day waiting period but the insurance required me to wait an extra year to get coverage for pre-existing conditions.

Any company that does that to you does not respect you or appreciate how stressful and expensive cobra is to cover that period.

Vesting requirements for 401ks is normal though.

COBRA isn't meant to be be used long term at all. The reason it is so expensive is because you're paying the cost that your former employer was covering.

The entire purpose of COBRA is to give someone time to find other coverage and not have a gap, or suddenly be paying 100% of their medical costs.

Its supposed to stop entry level positions from taking jobs to get insurance and then quitting.

I worked for a big company and it was a problem for our customer service department. It had a lot of people taking jobs and then quitting during the 6 week training. It was usually when the benefits kicked in after a week or two

That was my thought too

Outside of some pretty extreme circumstances it doesn't make sense for that job to demand 14 continuous hours of work on any given day, and presenting it as though it's the norm is disingenuous at best

Unless they're working at a CPA firm where it's normal to work 65-80hrs week during tax season, there's no reason they should be working 14hours. Also 90 day thing is normal for any Level Entry position, it's called a probation period.

A lot of it is probably meetings. Managing a massive corporation's Social Media presence is definitely a full time job.

Again, $50K after taxes. So it's significantly more than that, depending on the state. If it is in NYC, probably close to half the damn salary is going to taxes.
And yeah, it's a social media job, it's probably remote work and not actually in NYC at their headquarters..

I once worked at a local company that was beginning to branch out and had a couple remote sites. Probably less than 100 people in the entire company. We had a full time Social Media position. I 100% believe a massive corporation like the NBA would have a much more involved position than my old company. It is not just sitting on a computer playing on social media all day.
