What makes that obvious? I've seen people on Reddit freak out over an 8-month age difference. It's the internet; you never know how extreme people are.

It's weird when you're an adult, out of HS, waiting for a teenager to turn 18. Period. It's weird that anyone would think otherwise

This is just a very touchy topic that elicits visceral, kneejerk reactions out of people. You saw earlier that someone tried to make a big deal out of an 18-year-old crushing on a 17-year-old. Sometimes people lose the plot because they're too busy overreacting to everything.
