I am to be having some sort of issue with the website the songs are hosted at for the moment so I'm unable to vote in the second match for now. Hopefully did issue will resolve soon.

Both songs in match 1 are really great, upbeat, fun shounen OP's. The visuals of Brand New World make it work much better as an opening theme for me though.

Match 2 is weird. I've never been huge on Sawano vocal themes and gravityWall particularly just feels very middling and non-substantial even as a Re:Creators fan. It's safe but doesn't really have any impact, which I don't think is where OP's really want to be. In contrast, if anything I'd say I dislike the song in Utauyo!! Miracle, but it 100% gives the show a strong sense of personality and makes this a pretty easy vote.

Ranbu no Melody was a decent song but I didn't think too much was happening in the OP, just a bunch of face shots mostly. Brand New World had a lot more going on even if the song was a bit weaker.

I like K-On quite a bit but not so much for the OPs. It does make the show entertaining, but I don't know if it particularly makes it stand out. gravityWall is effective at conveying the whole 'fictional characters entering reality' sort of premise from that show (which I ought to watch some time) so I like it better.

As others said, Brand New World has A LOT more actual animation (I also like the song more but that's at least a closer call).

K-On song just does nothing for me. It has the edge in the looks department but huge song gap

IMO these are two very close matches. The first one is like very slight to Brand New World, which is a shame because even though I think Ranbu is kind of overrated, it's still a top tier opening. BTW, I think Bleach, pound for pound has the best openings out of any series. Yes better than JoJo.

For the second match. These are two OPs I know very well. BUt have to give the edge to Utauyo!! MIRACLE because its one of the best animated OPs in this entire contest. If it was Sh0ut (Recreators second OP), it might have been different because I feel like the track for that one is just better than Gravitywalls.

Wish the Bleach OP did more visually, song hits some nice points though. One Piece OP is just really fun, which is enough to win in this scenario.

Re:Creators song is a fuckin bop, so is the K-On song but the K-On song seems slightly too fast, I don't care for how it feels slightly sped up like I'm listening to it in 1.25x speed on Youtube. I do like the instrumentals though.

i havent even seen any of one piece and brand new world gets my full and undivided attention every damn time, it's just so fucking good. i know once i actually watch (hahaha yeah right imma be reading it) one piece then i'll enjoy the full *looks* 15 EPISODES????? THIS WAS ONLY USED FOR 15 EPISODES???

yea it's a well known war crime committed by Toei that brand new world was only used for 15 episodes

even worse if you watch the OP they replaced it with (not counting the strawhats We Are they used for like 5 episodes but that's also bad)

I like both songs, but Brand New World really does a lot to get you hyped about upcoming fights, promotes Gear Second which for an anime only viewer was cool as the first big transformation. You get a tease of a scary Chopper form and you get the Government/Strawhat staredown. Lot to look forward to. (Had this been Change, I probably would have gone for Bleach)

gravityWall was one of the reasons I checked out Re:Creators. I wasn't that familiar with Sawano at the time either. I liked the reverse isekai stuff with the cool character design. Looked like it could be a Fate style Battle Royal too.

I had to switch browsers to watch the videos in match two. gravityWall would crash at 1:17 each time (and attempting to skip past it would also crash) & MIRACLE would stop to buffer every two seconds. Thankfully, both videos play without incident on Firefox, so I really have no idea what the problem is.

Both match 1 songs are pretty good, but Brand New World is a bit more catchy, so it gets my vote. I liked shut more than gravityWall initially, but after listening to both a ton, gravityWall grew on me and became my favorite of the two. It feels like it has a lot more compositional depth. Both are great regardless.

i agree that bleach's could have used a bit more visuals, but i liked what was there with the desolation. OP was a lot more action-y and i think on first glance i am more captivated by super-upbeat songs.

gravityWall might be the best of these in terms of song and visuals as a complete package, incredible animations. K-ON!!! might have the worst music due to the annoying chipmunk vocals, but the visual is absolutely mesmerizing. probably would be in my favorite brackets to leave this 4-pack.

Yes, and it doesn't even get up to the fight scenes that are shown during it for some reason. Brand New World was done so dirty

this k-on op is a top 5 anime OP of all time. i didn't like it when i first saw it but i am enlightened now. those visuals that bass that atmosphere that synchronized singing to the songg

I think Ranbu is awfully weak in the art department, but Brand New World has never appealed to me.

gravityWall is a masterpiece. Not only is it Sawano at his finest, but it does an excellent job giving brief intros to all of the disparate characters in the show. When everyone has such a different art style to them, making something holistic takes effort, and they succeeded. All that said, this would be a tough vote against almost all of the k-on OPs and EDs. Alas, Utauyo is one of the few exceptions; I can't stand it.

to be fair, the opening that effectively replaced bnw putting aside we are was also the best one of all and i will actively not support any crazy rainbow star slander
