people tend to distinguish blue=male and pink=female but I tend to see blue as a neutral color, whereas pink is heavily gendered.

It used to be the opposite like 100+ years ago. Pink was seen as another version of red and blue was seen as a pure, feminine color.

One of my earliest memories was wanting a pink balloon at the grocery store. My mom told me no, that color is for girls.

I cried and kind of hate pink now.
