For all of Batman's "vengeance", he doesn't actually succeed in making the city any better or safer and in fact, has only exacerbated the problem. He had the guy's location since the start of the movie, said mob boss had a massive window in his main office, he could have been shot from down the street easily. He wanted to show the corruption of politicians, cop and the Waynes (I think?) He could have sent/spammed that info to cops and every media outlet or anyone that would listen from the start as well. What else did he want to do that he couldn't do on his own that he didn't achieve anyways? I'm honestly not trying to argue here, I really don't remember but I vaguely remember these being my biggest issues but of course not remembering the minor details. We see how our legal and judicial system is flawed with loopholes and corruption, so much that it almost never brings promise. "The Batman" shows that even if you made your own rules, and had all the financial resources, nothing will ever straighten out our crooked society. Sometimes you're actually having to overcome the people you're trying to save. The scale in which things can be helped, is rather small. Sometimes you lose more in attempt to fix things, and maybe it is that the world is permanently ruined, but that shouldn't take away the weight of purpose to help the people around you, because sitting idle isn't a life worth living. The Batman is the greatest optimist among us all. It sounds like my biggest issues aren't unfounded then. As I said I don't want to argue those points but I'm sure the Riddler could have gotten Batman's attention just from killing Falcone and sullying the Wanye name even if the latter would've unintentionally gotten said attention. It made the movie seem like a 2hr+ waste of time, the only thing that didn't have much to do with Falcone and exposing corruption was sinking Gotham (last half hour?) and Batman still fails to stop that. It's fine that Batman loses but he basically lost everything. IIRC he's still supposed to be a noob but throw something positive at the poor guy. He may as well have stayed at home and done nothing. Worst case scenario he opens the explosive mail instead of Alfred and he comes out unscathed. I'm sorry but it's just a bad movie. The acting is fine, the music was ok but the story was horrible.
