Kinda sad that's something that isn't really a thing anymore.

Sending someone a link to a song or a playlist just isn't the same. Especially compared to mixtapes where you had to sit there and actually play every song that you picked for it.

Did you ever do this back in the day for someone?

Haha I admittedly did this when I was younger. More than once. The last time I did was 1994 my senior year of high school.

I should also add though that growing up I just made a lot of mix tapes in general. It was just a thing we did. I made them for myself. I had different ones for different occasions like a road trip tape, or a summer vacation tape, stuff like that. I had specifics stuff from the 60's, and different genres. And yes it was actually tapes.

I think so? I don't really remember doing it but I assume I did, since I have one from my highschool girlfriend. It was nice actually, I used to listen to it back when I still had a car with a cd player. It was always a nice nostalgic trip down my memory lane of living life going around town as two teenagers in love.

Yes. Last time was around 2017. I had a first date with a girl. We bonded over indy music. So I burnt a cd we could listen to while driving to and back from a farm where we did hay rides and fall harvest festival stuff.

I was the same. I loved making my own cassette mixes and enjoyed the whole process and the time it took.

Especially when making one with someone else in mind and trying to imagine how they'll feel and react to each song.
