VeggetaX 08/31/23 3:23:14 PM #1:	Not gonna lie, it has always bothered me that Sasuke get so much fucking attention by both fans and show creator than Naruto especially since the show is called Naruto. Vegeta, Shadow the Hedgehog, Kaiba and Gary Oaks are all the MC's rivals and yet none of these characters come close to getting the same focus and attention Sasuke has in Naruto. Only two rival characters I can think: Ken to Ryu. Ken gets almost the same amount of attention as Ryu though their relationship is completely different from the rest I listed. Hyde to Eric Foreman from 70s Show. Can you argue that Hyde is Eric's Sasuke? --- Don't like it? Don't watch it. He gets entire sections of the story devoted to him, even when he's completely separate from Naruto, which serves to make him more of his own character. Many rivalries devolve into a state of perpetual "I wanna beat (the main character)." Vegeta and Kaiba definitely have that aspect going on with them, where their driving force is 'beat the MC,' but they're decent rivals and they get their own shining moments anyway. Sasuke is probably the best-balanced rival in any anime that I've seen, given that he and Naruto remain evenly matched until the very end. There's never that obvious moment (like with ~~Goku/Vegeta and Yugi/Kaiba~~) where it becomes a joke, and the audience inherently knows the rival can never beat the main hero. Naruto and Sasuke ~~clash a few times, and every time, it's unclear who would actually win if they fought to the end.~~ Sasuke ~~getting a W against Naruto in their first real fight~~ went a long way toward carrying that tension, and their final battle was absolutely perfect. --- (He/Him) I write Naruto Fanfiction.
