i mean the outside part with the water. It was very well designed imo. Wonder if the falling water can freeze when it's very cold

I was there back when the new tower one was completed. I'm not superstitious, but I won't lie, there was a very strong spiritual energy surrounding that place. It was so thick, you can feel it around your skin. The memorial itself was lovely.

I work nearby so yes. In some cold or windy days they turn off the waterfall.

I would like to someday. When I went they were still doing construction in the hole, so it was all blocked off. It was 2003 I think.

No, I haven't been down there in a while.
I would like to go up the tower, but I kinda don't like that they turned it into a Disney ride.
Also, I heard it has a gift shop, which is a little weird.

I do like the Tower though.

One World Trade Center.
It's much nicer in design than the originals.
I love that it's Faceted.
Certainly better than some of the other proposals.

And ya, last I checked on the ride up they have this whole projected image thing going on.
Which apparently carries on after you get out of the elevator.
It does a cool story about New York, but I just find it unnecessary.

IDK, I suppose it's cool, it could be worse.
I guess in the context of a Memorial it's kinda weird.
Just personal preference, I'm not going to hate on any for liking it.

isnt the new one world trade center much less tourist friendly than like the old wtc and the empire state building etc....? like they dont let many tourists go up the building compared to other nyc ones?

No. Unless you count an airport, i haven't really been to NYC since 9/11 happened

I lived in nyc and I never cared for that kind of memorial. Instead nyc needed to repair the subway with that money.

oh you didn't like that area and left? i visited it this summer. What else were they supposed to do? they had to have some kind of memorial. Haven't read how much it costed to build though. Do you know?

Yes. I only moved when I broke up with my ex so I could be closer with family.

I intend to move back.
Yes its expensive and congested but such a liberal space and one of the only places I've experienced in the US that truly celebrates diversity.

I've been to it a few times.

First time, they were still constructing the new world trade center. It is a surreal experience to see a pit where 2000+ people died.

Second time, was after the completion of the new tower. Yea, idk it does have a weird "energy" to it in a way. Very humbling experience both times.

No, but my family visited NYC a few months after the towers fell.

It does have an observation room.
I've never heard of any restriction on capacity, beyond your type restrictions.

I did visit, the space was very nice.

Unfortunately I can't say the same for the people. Duck lips was in vogue the one time I visited years ago, and if seemed like most of the people there were more interested in posing ostentatiously for social media than treating the setting with the solemnity that I feel it deserves.

That's just how people are though, I presume that it's still the same way.
