I never understood why body count matters. Who cares if your partner fucked fifty people once or one person fifty times?

My wife and I had one conversation about this when we first started dating. I told her I didnt care how many previous partners she had and she agreed. The topic has never come up again.

It can bring up trust issues when the numbers are dramatically different. Is their number so high because theyre quick to kill and should you be concerned about your own life? Can that person with the abnormally low count be trusted to keep a secret?

As long as the past partners were all from long term serious relationships, that's what matters. But that also means the count shouldn't be much, b/c time on this earth and all that...

I would never ask, or even think about, someone's "body count" when getting to know them. That's pretty weird tbh.

My ex-girlfriend/current FWN has a higher body count than me. It doesn't bother me in the slightest.

This pretty much. Someone who's count is below double digits is more likely to have a long relationship with you than someone with 50+. People are looking for different things. For me it's relationship. So 10 and below. Mind you it's not something you blurt out. There are has to be some protocol

Idunno about him, but no one I've ever been interested in dating has had more than one prior boyfriend. That's not something that I checked for and said "ok, this qualifies", but it is consistent enough that I associate it with personality characteristics that I would look for in a mate.

If you meet a, say, 22 year old and date awhile and start having feelings it might be a long term thing, then find out they've banged 63 other people already, that might indicate they're not going to stick around long

What's frustrating is mine is low for a 32 year old who hasn't really had a LTR(3), I literally don't care about whether the girl's is 1 or 100, and I've still had them get weird about it out of an insecurity on their end, I've been told my number was "unusual" by one girl, and another put me in a box and assumed I was ultra naive and sheltered and was always so patronising when talking to me about sex

She couldn't decide in her mind whether she was proud of or ashamed of her high body count, bringing up the difference between me and her around friends while drunk

It's kinda lame. Coincidentally the one who actually took my virginity was the coolest about it

This is nonsense. Im at 50+ plus and Ive spent the last 10 years in a 6 year long relationship and then a 4 year long one. How many people you have been with has absolutely nothing to do with whether youll stay in a relationship. People have different paths through life, people have different priorities at different times. People have years of their life they are more open to casual things and then later want serious relationships. Or, they always wanted one and didnt find the right person.

What a ridiculous statement.

Body count is an absolutely stupid way of conveying the concept, though. Can we please come up with a new term that sounds less like a serial killer talking about victims?

Mine is much higher (16), as I am actually her only one. Luckily she doesn't care at all, and seems fascinated hearing stories about my exes, although it makes me a bit uncomfortable and guilty at times. I feel like it should bother her or something.

So see my post above. My fiance has learned to satisfy me more than anyone I have ever dated despite her prior inexperience. Her "style" so to speak is now completely tailored to me. Not that I ever asked for that, but it is the truth. So don't worry about it, although some growing pains may be needed.

As it turns out, someone with a lot of experience is usually better at communicating their needs and better at sex.

This is the most gamefaqs virgin thread Ive seen since well, since the last time I bothered to click on a Vegy thread.

I kinda think it's slightly hilarious how grown-ass adults really think their partner could ever be truly honest about this type of stuff.

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure some are.

But whenever this conversation comes up in general, I just think "yea, ok, but this is a complete waste of time to even think about".
