I can't recall anyone mentioning this show for the last two years. Did anyone watch it? I stopped at the end of season 2, I think. I know I'm at least two seasons behind.

I think I watched like the first 7 episodes and haven't seen it since.

I remember watching the first few seasons and definitely liking the first two, but I must have missed the penultimate one because I watched the trailer for the final season and some of the plot points were completely lost on me.

I think I'm going to have to start fresh with season 1 and work my way back up to the finale. It doesn't help my motivation that my only online friend that I know used to watch it @Zigzagoon has also fallen off the Disenchantment wagon or simply isn't interested enough to discuss it anymore so rewatching is gonna have to be a solo project.

I might try and watch at some point. When they started relegating Luci to side character status, I started losing interest very quickly.

I think I lost interest when I realised they expected me to care about the story arc rather than it just being a vehicle for more "What if everyone in a D&D campaign was awful" gags. It was fine as a parody, but I just didn't like the characters enough for them to carry a plotline.

the show is just way too plot driven to have the gags it does and it doesn't really do either well

it looks like i've seen through s3. because i didn't recognize anything from s5e1

Season 1 down. This is much better than I remembered it as far as comedic timing and stuff. It could use a lot more polish imo though. There's like so many scenes with no background noise or music and it makes the show feel kind of "empty" on the whole. The characters are pretty hilarious though at least in the first season!

I'm halfway through season 2 now, and I've gotta say the magic is still there. It must have been some time around the 3rd season where the writing quality must have dipped and I lost interest. I remember one really annoying gag involving King Zog having PTSD from being buried alive that went on entirely too long to have never been funny to begin with and I think that was my turning point.

Also I feel like I'm with @Zigzagoon in that Disenchantment eventually started focusing less and less on Bean's relationship with Luci and Elfo who are quite frankly the only characters I'd call genuinely funny, and more on her relationship with her father and biological mother which really hurt the show's quality in the later seasons. Bean's dynamic with the two of them isn't just the heart of the show- it's the entire thing! Maybe I'm just not that invested in the overarching plot, but I'm still going to get through this because of all the time I've already sunk into it.

I remember watching season 1 when it came

i think my next watchthrough was with season 3, I had to start over because I forgot everything

and I forget everything again. I just watched a 1-3 recap and okay it's all familiar although becomes nonsense towards the end. tried a season 4 recap and it's familiar but in the sense that it's doing something that season 2 already did but as the recap gets out of that part yeah I don't think I've seen this stuff

i felt this badly for arrested development on netflix so you may be right. 3-5 laughs over 21 minutes is better than 3-5 laughs over 28 minutes

I saw the first season and did not like it at ALL.

everyone said it got better by season 2

I had no idea it was on its final season now, let alone that it aired

I just stopped paying attention to it
