I'd go as far as banning dogs from apartments.
Dogs are animals that need space, confining them to an apartment with just a couple of hours worth of open space each day is selfish.

And contrary to the popular belief, cats are way more useful to an average individual.
Very few people actually need guard dogs, while cats pretty much guarantee backyard without any pests. Even including snakes.

Not to mention how dirty dogs are. All the drooling, ugh.

I make an exception for dogs owned by family members, but overall I'm not a dog person. They make good service animals, but otherwise those advantages (barking, aggression) can easily become disadvantages in a domestic context.

Unless they're indoor/outdoor hybrids, in which case they go outside and bury it.

And if we're going to criticize cats for using a litter tray, let's not forget dogs just do it wherever the hell they want and humans are expected to clean it up. So either way, cats win this one.

I have a dog in an apartment. But its a massive apartment and he spends about 11 and a half hours a day elsewhere on weekdays. Then he can run around, play with other dogs and swim as much as he likes.

I know this seems too big of a coincidence for this topic, but yesterday I was waiting for a work email and it was late. I call the guy and he's apologizing to me because he didn't send it. What happened? His pitbull bit him, "but not a lot", so he had to take a shot. <.<

My previous cat came and went as she pleased. She spent most of her time inside and only went outside for short periods of time, mostly to go to the toilet. Most convenient cat ever.

I prefer cats, for sure. Dogs are way too high maintenance, co-dependent, and honestly just annoying lol.

Whenever Im at a friends house and they have dogs, I feel like I cant really relax. Theyre always running around, barking at stupid shit, etc. Like, chill the fuck out

I worked for the post office for a while and the posties used to keep a billboard of all the addresses known for having aggressive unleashed (as in not on a leash, not they were unleashed upon me!) dogs. They were legally allowed to refuse to deliver to those premises if they felt it wasnt safe.

I grew up always having a family dog around, but I prefer cats now. I guess it was easier to match a dog's energy back then, now I prefer a chill roommate who is usually just doing their own thing.

I don't hate dogs. I hate a lot of dog owners though lol.
